Nude lips are a timeless makeup look that will never go out of style, but sometimes it can be a tricky trend to nail. Worry not, as we have a flawless routine that’s impossible to fail…
Start by exfoliating your lips – if you’ve ever even gone near nude lipstick in the past, you’ll know that light lip shades show up every lump and bump, so it’s a good idea to prep them first. We love the Fresh Sugar Lip Polish, it’s super nourishing and really buffs away any dry flakes that will cause our finished result to look anything less than perfect.
Simply scoop out a little with a finger and gently buff in to the lips before wiping away and following with a slick of lip balm. That’s all there is to it.
Next, lightly line and fill the lip area with a soft, nude pink lip pencil – this will just increase the staying-power of your nude lip, and really amp up the result.
We love the Bobbi Brown Lip Pencil in Pale Peach (£16), a dreamy fresh peach hue that becomes one with the lips for the most flattering ‘barely there’ lip going. These are super easy to use, and you can do a little bit of Kylie Jenner action and make the lips appear a slightly bigger than they really are.
We like to gently line around the lips, accentuating the Cupid’s Bow as we go, before filling in the lips – again, easy peasy.
Finally, we slick on our shade of choice. We’re going for the incredible NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Biscayne Park (£19), the most mesmerising soft nude pink you will ever encounter.
The best bit about these pencils is that they have a really wearable dewy finish, so lips aren’t smothered in drying colour. The pigment is intense, but you still have that slightly silky result that allows for a little shine. It’s the perfect formula for all seasons, and the most classic shade for all year round wear.
A no-frills routine that will leave you prepped in seconds – and feeling pretty smug too. Do you rock a nude lip?
