That’s right, Laura Mercier have managed to reformulate and repackage one of our favourite foundations without us even realising. If you’re wondering what the difference may be, here’s our thoughts on the new edition…
LAURA MERCIER SILK CREME PHOTO EDITION FOUNDATION, £35
The brand have packaged up the swanky new formula in some pretty sleek packaging; this seems to be the brand’s new look as most of their current releases as sporting the same luxe black tube and dark grey cap.
The formula itself is quite similar to the original, although a bit more fluid-like rather than the mousse-y finish we’re used to. The scent is also a little more subtle – we know some weren’t huge fans of the obvious scent, so we’re pleased to announce this is somewhat downplayed.
In terms of changes, the brand state that they have simply reworked the formula to ensure it’s even more moisturising, offering a dewy finish that’s camera-ready – meaning it’s ideal for wedding days, filmed events and other occasions.
The super-blendable texture and long-wearing finish is on par with the original, these were key selling points of Silk Creme and we’re glad we can still say that the base offers 12 hours of wear and a heavenly, luminous look on the skin.
So are we sold? It has to be said that the Photo Edition foundation offers everything we loved from the original Silk Creme, with a few added extras for flawless skin. It conceals uneven tone, blemishes, redness and other imperfections, while looking natural and radiant on the skin – enhancing the complexion in one quick application.
Well worth a sample on counter, whether you were a fan of the original or not!
