Brace yourselves, for this month sees some truly noteworthy beauty releases. June is the month of the summer release, if this lot are anything to go by – we expect you’ll want to make a beeline for Boots at some point today…
CLARINS HYDRAQUENCH TINTED MOISTURISER, £26.40
Why have makeup when you can have a skincare and makeup hybrid, we always say. As expected, the latest release from Clarins is something to get excited about; creamy tinted moisturisers that offer sheer coverage with an added SPF 15 to ensure dewy summery skin this season.
Both hydrating and softening, the bases aim to provide a dose of hydration to the skin that keeps the complexion supple and comfortable. It feels beautiful to apply and instantly works to improve the condition of the skin, strengthening the skin’s own barrier function in order to retain moisture within the cells for a truly hydrated complexion.
The creamy base also uses colour pigments which allow for a seamless application of product, as well as reflecting pigments that allow a “blurred” effect to skin, which in turn helps to minimise the appearance of imperfections to achieve an all-round perfected result. Got that?
In short, these gorgeous offerings deliver a double-radiance result while ensuring the skin is as prepped and healthy as can be.
Our thoughts? The HydraQuench Tinted Moisturisers sure do live up to their promises – on first use we noticed how well they blended and melted in to the skin, and the dewy finish really concealed uneven tone and redness. The seven shades match well and cater for most skin tones, too.
All in all, a lovely base option for those who need a touch of coverage and a good helping of hydration.
CLINIQUE LONG LAST LIPSTICKS SOFT MATTE, £17
Now, these are something you’re going to want to look out for. Launching on counters on the 6th, these deliciously creamy lipsticks offer full-on colour and a wearable matte finish.
They’ve been three years in the making, and boast a long-wearing application that stays put for hours of colour. The intense lip products are available in eight bold shades, from the wearable Matte Peony to the deeper Matte Mandarin.
So what’s so special about these lip launches? Well, they’re formulated to help prevent moisture loss from the lips, which in turn means your pout feels comfortable throughout the day. No more cracked colour or hunting round for a good lip balm by lunchtime.
While we would usually avoid matte lipsticks for daywear, these are incredibly low maintenance and offer a smooth, perfected result with every application.
The shades are just flawless, we could easily take the lot, and the nourishing formula certainly wins even us gloss-lovers over.
ELEMIS PRO-COLLAGEN HYDRA-GEL EYE MASKS, £46
These soothing eye treatments are exactly what our tired peepers are in need of! Elemis have released a pack of six incredible eye masks which apply as intensely hydrating eye patches, to soothe and instantly minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
In each pack there are two bean-shaped patches that are peeled away from the backing and placed under each eye. The patches are soaked with product but stay put on the skin – the idea is to leave the masks on for twenty minutes in order to let the formula infuse in to the delicate eye area. It sounds like a tricky process, but in fact it takes just seconds to get the masks in place, and then you can sit back and relax (or even go about your day!) while the moisturising formula gets to work.
The gel masks provide the skin with a tightening effect, and they’re also incredibly soothing so they’re a much needed release after a long day.
