No party look is complete without some Christmas nail art. If you’re a little less artistic than you would like, we have a cheats way to pretty nails with this cute tutorial…
The secret to effortless festive nails? The Nails Inc Snowflake Polish (£16) – an utterly beautiful glitter flecked polish that can be applied over the top of any hue for a simple wash of snowfall.
For this work of polish perfection, we went for the Nails Inc Nailkale Polish in Mayfair Lane (£14) – this is the shade our collection has been missing, a sophisticated muted pink with a slight grey undertone. It still looks perky and feminine on the nails, but it has a played-down tone that really works throughout the seasons.
These nail polishes have a brush that we think may actually be better than the Essie diffusion line – a bold claim, we know – and the colour is completely opaque in two thin coats. The formula is just dreamy, it stays on the nails without even a sign of chipping for a good few days (providing you finish off your mani with a good top coat) and the colour looks glossy and professional.
To sweep on that Snowflake top coat, we applied a very thin layer starting around halfway down the nail and bringing the brush up to the tip. Then we layered on a touch more at the tip for an ombré effect. It was super easy and we didn’t even need to use a sponge.
Finally, we dotted on a gold glitter with the tip of the brush for a hint of sparkle. Optional but beautiful. We went for Butter London ‘Marbs’ if you’re wondering.
See, you don’t even need to be a perfectionist to get this right! Will you be trying it?
